Lauren Gendreau
About
Having played in a wide variety of music groups over the years with countless performances, she knows how scary it can be to get up on stage in front of an audience. But through hard work and practice, and making friends in communities of fellow musicians, she not only got over her fears, but also found a passion for sharing music with others—and hopes to inspire you to do the same!
Lauren started her musical journey about 10 years ago playing classical piano and upright bass. She discovered her love of the electric bass in her middle school jazz band, and went on to take lessons and join a rock band at Rock ’n' More during high school. Lauren has played in other groups including the Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, Seattle JazzED’s ‘Girl’s Ellington Project’ jazz band, and as the primary bassist for a local Seattle indie rock band. She studied music technology and audio engineering at Shoreline College, and later began teaching bass lessons for Off the Wall School of Music in Seattle. Now, Lauren is writing and producing her own music along with teaching bass to students of all ages.
