​Kaiya Buffelen is an award winning singer/songwriter who became a member of the Rock ‘n’ More family as a student at the age of 8, worked as a member of our legendary front desk squad, “The Council” throughout her high school years, and now, at the age of 19 has joined us as a private vocal instructor. She has spent much of her life as a student of music studying voice, guitar, performing in Tahoma High School’s Chamber Choir and Jazz Choir, being a part of the Rockology band program for many years, and at age 12, winning 1st place in Maple Valley Idol Jr., which she now helps run.

As a teacher, Kaiya will ask you about your goals and make sure your lessons are built around helping you achieve whatever it is you want to grow in vocally. She meets students where they’re at in their musical journey and provides a learning experience centered around what the student wants to learn to sing. Whatever genre it might be, Kaiya is ready to tackle it together!

She attends Green River College, continues to work the front desk and produce a lot of our social media content, and performs all around Western Washington. Kaiya recently performed on the iconic and historic Moore Theatre stage as part of a program called More Music At The Moore (look it up, Macklemore was in it when he started!)

Kaiya cares deeply about our arts community here in Maple Valley, and in addition to working at Rock ‘n’ More, she volunteers to help with many different projects for the Maple Valley Creative Arts Council including hosting monthly open mics. Through these many musical experiences, Kaiya has developed a toolkit of all of the tips and tricks that helped shape her into the singer and performer she is today. She has a passion for using what she knows from years of experience performing to grow the confidence and skills of others so they can feel confident calling themselves a singer.
